Frequently Asked Questions

The answer is almost always no. Parents know their children best and are usually the first to start having concerns. In most cases, the longer you wait the larger the gap gets between your child and others who are reaching their age-appropriate milestones on time. Early intervention lays a foundation that will significantly increase your child’s ability to integrate smoothly into educational and social environments.

Language is the foundation for literacy. When children start school they will be exposed to many new words and instructions. If your child is having difficulties with talking or understanding before they start school, they are seven times more likely that they will continue to have difficulties throughout their schooling education. We want our children to have the best possible start to learning.

Your child will have the same therapist for every session. This means your child will become familiar with the therapist who will lead your child’s  progress. Also, this allows the therapist to become very familiar with your child’s individual learning needs.

All of our therapists have an Australian recognised university degree and are a certified with their professional body. Our therapists have experience working with both adults and children in many different settings. Our therapists continually update their skills by attending professional courses and attend regular mentoring sessions with our senior staff.

Every child is unique and different and will progress through therapy at their own pace. There are a number of factors that will influence therapy progression such as your child’s diagnosis, their difficulties and how quickly they can move through their goals. Some children may need a few sessions while others may need more time. Some factors that will influence the rate of therapy progression includes how often your child attends their sessions and how much homework is being completed.

Our clinicians see clients between the hours of 8:30am to 6:30pm.  If you need a weekend appointment – our allied health assistants are available on Saturdays from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
